Peer leaders in WMS are a group who come together to show positivity in our school at WMS.
Peer leaders show what can be done at WMS. They do a lot of assemblies being the most popular one being the Black History Month assembly. At this assembly they talk about how blacks had to fight for their rights and speed positivity about Black History Month.Peer leaders also show positivity by traveling to elementary school to teach others.
Upcoming events in peer leaders?
Mia Muilenburg explains by saying, “We have the lunch coming up where we get to meet the mayor and get certificates.Were doing women’s history month in all of march which is almost passing.Then we’re going into homerooms presenting topic of choice.” Peer leaders upcoming events are after spring break they’re going into homerooms teaching others how important school is.Muilenburg share this information about the events that are happening soon at WMS.
What do peer leaders do to plan for events?
Peer leaders have a trainer that is a high schooler who comes to help them prepare for events they might be performing.Mia Muilenburg said, “We have a trainer that comes like a high schooler comes to help use prepare. For assemblies we practice every single day in the auditorium or in the classroom to prepare. Peer leaders is a decoction to do and it really not a lot.”Muilenburg explains how they prepare for upcoming events and what they do to train for peer leaders.By them doing this it helps them perform better.It also allows them to be more confident in their performances for WMS and elementary schools.
Why did you join Peer leaders?
Maitee B,Aiden D and Mia M both share why they joined and it was to be able to have new experiences and have the chance to socialize with their peers.Maitee Benjamin said, “I thought it would be a good experience and I also enjoy the Mrs Washington way of teaching.”Benjamin tells about why she thought about joining peer leaders and a little bit of Benjamin’s perspective of joining peer leaders.
Peer leaders have their own favorite aspects of being in the group. Aiden De los Ángeles explains by saying, “The assemblies like for example the black history month especially that everyone got to contribute something into the assembly.”Maitte Benjamin also shares what is her favorite part of peer leaders by saying, “To be able to hangout with friends and to help around the school.”
Peer leaders express their experiences of being in peer leaders and how they perform with each other. It’s important for people to know what Peer Leaders do for our school. They put a lot of effort into making WMS a better place and help out a lot.
