Horror movies are a great way to pass time when you’re bored, or when you’re looking for a good movie that you would want to watch again once you’re done. Of course, for you to feel this way you have to find the right one. So here are MY TOP 3 HORROR MOVIES to watch!
I have always been a big fan of horror movies; I have been watching horror movies since I was pretty much born. My mom and aunts are also big fans, so I started loving scary movies from a young age.
SPECIAL EFFECTS:
My 3rd favorite horror movie is The Boy, specifically the first one. I feel like the special effects of this movie were not bad.but could have been better because I don’t feel like the costumes for the boy near the end were that good, but it wasn’t that bad.
My second favorite horror movie is The Babadook. I feel like the special effects for this one were good, the camera angles for this movie were exquisite, the scenes when the mom and the little boy were on the bed were especially exceptional, they did excellent showing the closet(where the monster was), and the bed.
My first favorite horror movie is The Deliverance. I really liked the special effects of this movie, they were like playing mind tricks on me with the editing of the faces, I really enjoyed it, and the camera angles for this one were quite great, it helped view the movie itself in a good way.
A phenomenal scene was when the mom, and the little boy were in the basement, and the little boy was possessed by the demon so his face changed completely.
his face got longer, his eyes bigger, and his cheekbones more defined.
STORYLINE:
The storyline of “The Boy” was pretty good, it was about this American nanny named Greta, that had a job with an 8 year old boy, but when she went to the house of the old couple, she found out that the 8 year old boy was a doll, she broke the rules that the old couple gave her, and then found out that the doll was haunted. This storyline was good, nothing crazy but entertaining. I liked the scenes where the boy(the doll) was on the rocking chair and moved his head. Those scenes looked really seamless, and clean.
The storyline of The Babadook is really good, it was about this woman who was troubled by her husband’s death, and had to deal with her son who had an intense fear of monsters that also misbehaved. but then they realized that there was a dark presence haunting them in the form of a book. This storyline is simple but really good, this storyline kept me entertained throughout the whole movie, and it was incredible.
The storyline of The Deliverance is awesome, this storyline had to do with a family that moved to a new house, and then a bunch of unhinged and conflicted events started happening, which made the family and everybody else think that the house was a portal to hell. The movie is truly more than this, the son gets possessed and lured by a demon who wants to kill the whole family. But then the mom turns christian, and everything gets better. it is MY FAVORITE scary movie, and I don’t think there is a movie that can top this.
FRIGHT FACTOR:
The fright factor of The Boy would be a 4/10 or 5/10. This movie isn’t really that scary, like I’ve seen worse.
The fright factor for The Babadook would be a 6/10 or 7/10. It isn’t that scary, but the intriguing scenes are what makes this movie scary in a way.
The fright factor of The Deliverance would be an 8/10. I definitely jumped a few times while watching this, but I personally like getting scared, to me it showcases how good the movie is.
