The girls cross country team tryouts will occur on Monday the 24th at Woodbridge Middle School.
Aubrey Rebnicky, an 8th grade cross country runner, explained a good mindset to achieve goals in cross country. She said, “Don’t over-push it; pace yourself. Don’t tell yourself you can’t do it even though you can.”
Rebnicky started cross country in her 6th grade year. They prepared for cross country by training.
Cross country practices around the block and up the hill around school. She said she took cross country seriously because she “wanted to win.”
Mrs. Cavagnaro, one of the cross country coaches, said she wanted to be a coach because it was a way to interact with the kids outside of class, and she “loves” running.
She also talked about how she motivates her runners, saying, “Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.” She also said she encourages them to be their best selves and to set goals for themselves so at the end of the season they can see how much they have improved.
