The eighth-grade dance committee, comprised of students, Mrs. Estenes and Mrs, Donewitz are preparing for the event taking place at the Acacia Youth Center in June.
Mrs. Estenes is a teacher at WMS and she is one of the teachers who run the eighth grade dance committee. She made sure everyone got a part in the decision-making process for the dance. She said, “We had the eighth-grade dance committee come up with them and then we narrowed it down to two options; Disco and Under the Sea.”
Decorations are an important part of any dance. Mrs. Estenes said, “There are going to be a lot of disco balls and a lot of shiny stuff, a balloon arch, and a backdrop for a photo opp.”
“If you’re thinking about going to the eighth-grade dance, I think that you should because it’s a one-time thing, and it’s just your last dance with this class before you get to high school, ” Mrs. Estenes said.
The eighth-grade dance committee came up with two themes for the eighth-grade class to choose from, “We had the eighth-grade dance committee come up with them and then we narrowed it down to two options; Disco and Under the Sea.” Kamia Jones stated.
Everyone in the eighth-grade dance committee made sure the eighth-graders got involved in choosing the theme: “We all had a meeting, and we took a Google form, and we thought of it, but then we decided that the whole eighth-grade class should be included in it because it’s their dance,” Kamia Jones said.
The eighth-grade dance is something that the eighth-grade class should be excited about. “I think we could promote the dance by talking about it because it’s something to look forward to,” Kamia Jones stated.
