Mr. Blackmore made bridges and rivers in his science classroom last week for a lab at WMS
Mr.Blackmore lived in Ohio his whole life being a very outdoors person. Ever since he was a kid he said, “I was fortunate enough at your age, I traveled to 40 different states,”
Mr.Blackmore said, “I love hands-on activities ” which he loves to do with his class and students.
Mr. Blackmore’s eighth-grade science class showcased their remarkable bridge projects. The event where students make bridges,
which allowed students to design and build model bridges using K’nex, a toy brand.
Mr. Blackmore said he loves fun, hands-on activities and has a very unique teaching style. He loves to get his students involved in their learning.
“I’ve always enjoyed building things since I was a kid,” he stated.
“When I started teaching, I noticed the kids enjoy hands-on activities too,” During the event, students worked together to create sturdy bridges.
In Mr.Blackmore’s classroom, students help each other think about how to make their bridges stronger. He said he believes that learning should go beyond the classroom.
