Hwang Hyunjin is a K-pop idol under the company JYP Entertainment, in a group called Stray Kids. Hyunjin is also an ambassador for Cartier, Givenchy, and Versace. On December 25, 2024 he showed up to the SBS Gayo Daejeon event with a buzz cut. A lot of Stays (Stay: Stray kids’ fandom name) thought he did it for a fandom cleanse because of all the drama that was going on. But the real reason was just because he wanted to get the haircut which he said in the [Stray Kids : SKZ-TALKER] Ep. 69, where Hyunjin says he’s always wanted a half buzz cut.

He says he had long hair for too long and just never had the chance to do it. Hyunjin said there were many reasons he said he wanted a buzz cut, because he could draw and write about it. No one expected the big change in his haircut since he had long hair right before. Some stays love the buzz cut while others think long hair suits him better.

In my opinion I think he looks amazing in all haircuts. Many people hated the short bowl cut he got in 2022 which was very unprofessional and unnecessary for a K-pop stan to do. People can have their own opinions but hating is just not right. Many stays were very pleased he didn’t get as much hate on his new buzz cut. And of course some people still do hate on the hair cut, but that’s a part of being a K-pop idol.
