On March 5, 1770, an important event known as the The Boston Massacre took place. During this time, tensions have already been rising between the colonists and British Soldiers. The colonists were upset because of unfair taxes, and they felt their rights were being ignored by the British Parliament. On that evening, a crowd of colonists were throwing snowballs and rocks at British soldiers. In response to the tension, the soldiers fired into the crowd, killing five colonists and wounding six others. Victims who died were Crispus Attucks, Samuel Gray, James Caldwell, Samuel Maverick, and Patrick Carr. After this event, this infuriated the colonists and The Boston Massacre is a key event to approaching the American Revolution.
