The Undelivered Packages
Bella Antoniello January 30, 2025
Today is January 30th of 2025. I think something happened to my neighbors. Something…bad. I’m not sure what to do; if I should knock on their door, call someone, or leave it be. Allow me to explain…
Sometime last year, a family of five moved into the apartment below mine. They are very kind and generally good people. A mother, father, baby daughter, and grandparents. We always said hello and made small talk. But just the week before it snowed really bad, approximately the week of January 19th, my sister had heard some sad, disturbing cries coming from our neighbor’s home. She claimed the cries to have a very devastated and woeful sound. She thought it was the mother that was weeping and sobbing.
Three packages came that week. It was for our neighbors. One large box, and two bags, all from Temu. We obviously paid no mind to it, thinking they would normally just grab the package from the doorstep and move on.
But that’s where things get interesting.
After my sister heard the cries and since the packages are still there, we haven’t seen them since.
It has been about three weeks.
I am genuinely concerned for them. Are they missing? Did they die? Did ICE take them? I have so many thoughts running through my mind, all bad. Where could they have vanished to? Will they ever receive their packages? It makes me sad. What if something bad happened. That poor family. I pray for them. It just seems so…odd–so sudden.I’m driving myself out of my mind thinking about this. But I really don’t know what could’ve gone wrong. I sigh. They’re probably on vacation or something.I think of all possibilities, even if they are morbid.
