Groundhog day falls on February second every year by (obviously) a groundhog named Punxsutawney. What happens is when he leaves his burrow, if his shadow is visible, there is theoretically 6 more weeks of winter. However, it is said that if his shadow is gone, summer is on its way quicker than usual. This tradition began in 1887 and has been celebrated every year since. You can celebrate this by watching the feed live from Pennsylvania, where around 40,000 people gather each year to witness this holiday.
