Have you ever wondered how it felt to be playing in a professional field where many famous people play? Well if you have, then let me tell you my experience in Metlife.
I have been one of those people who has always wondered and dreamed of playing in a professional field like Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, well guess what, that dream came true, Last week on Thursday. Franklin SC Storm invited us to play a scrimmage with them in Metlife Stadium. When I heard about this I was thrilled and super excited to go.
When Monday was here, I was ready to play and have fun in a huge beautiful field. When we arrived there was a line but we waited, and waited until it was our turn; we went through a detector and then waited for the whole team.
After that we hung out for a bit outside in the entrance and then the coach arrived. When Coach got there we all knew that it was time to go in. When we went in we waited in line for other teams to settle and then we entered the field, there was a lot of cheerful noises and applause. It was a magical moment, it felt like all of this was a dream.
We went to our space and started warming up, I still couldn’t believe that I was there, after warmups we had a little pep talk and we were on the field, I started as Striker/ forward. Then the ref played the whistle and we began to play, it wasn’t even 10 minutes yet and we scored taking the lead 1-0.
All my emotions were so mixed up, I was feeling so many at the same time. I felt happy, focused, silly, and determined to win and do my best. It was really tiring but it was worth waiting in line and being tired.
The greatest memory from my experience in Metlife was when we all celebrated as a team, took photos and had a lot of fun playing. We all got our chance to shine and enjoy playing in that huge field. We all could agree that we wanted to win and celebrate together a new memory we were making together as a team.
At the end of the game, we won 5-3, we celebrated together taking pictures, everything went as planned, we won our game, played as a team, gave our best, and left happily with a new memory created! Something that I learned from that experience is that anything is possible as long as you have the determination and the right mindset.
