Today’s Around the World is Colombia. Colombia is located at the top of South America and is considered the “gateway to South America,” because it connects Central America and South America. Colombia is the fifth largest country in South America. Colombia has snow-covered volcanoes, tropical beaches, and many grasslands. As of 2024, the population is 52,886,363. Some foods from Colombia are empanadas, arepas, patacones, and chicharron. Colombia has a lot of wildlife and animals like poison dart frogs, jaguars, and spectacled bears (South America’s only species of bear). Colombian people have many dances, art, and music (especially salsa music) that they love to share.
