On September 6, 1901, in Buffalo, New York, the 25th president of the United States, William Mckinley was making a public appearance at the Pan-American Exposition in the Temple Of Music, Mckinley was shaking hands with the public when an anarchist, Leon F. Czolgosz shot him twice in the abdomen with an Iver-Johnson Revolver hidden underneath a handkerchief, Mckinley died on September 14 due to gangrene caused by the wounds, William Mckinley was the third U.S president to be assassinated, alongside Abraham Lincoln and James Abram Garfield.
