Back when these fish were alive they would eat small sharks, bony fish and other Dunkleosteus. It was 13 to 33 feet long and it weighed 1 to 4 tons. Instead of having teeth like other fish it had its bony edges from its upper and lower jaw exposed. They would use it as blades and they were reinforced with crystalline dentine to make them extra durable. They lived in a shallow subtropical sea that covered Ohio.
