Stunning February Star Students of the Month
The February Star Students of WMS helped students and teachers this month by performing helpful acts. During school these students went out of their way to be kind.
Alivia Toliver’s teacher just got out of surgery, so Toliver decidingly wrote down the homework because “[she] didn’t want her teacher to struggle walking across the room.” Not only did Toliver continuously help write the homework down , Toliver also helped students that were having trouble in class.
Emma Hodgins and Rayna Jagasia witnessed a student drop his money during homeroom, so “[she] gave his money back.” Jagasia said, “I chased the student because they dropped their dollar, I thought about myself and losing my money.”
Jared Kruszka, without being asked, gave another student his seat that was closer to the board so he could see. Kruszka said, “I gave up my seat for a student because he couldn’t see the board so I moved to the back of the room.” Kruszka didn’t know why, he felt as if he should just give up his seat “[he was] feeling good that day.”
Roselyn Ortiz gave a student money when they were short fifty cents. Ortiz said, “I think that helping people makes people better in the world.”
Peter Butta held the door open as the entire gym class left the gym, considering his gym class is at the end of the day, it was a considerate act.“I didn’t want any of the students to be late to their houses”, said Butta
Joseph Belmont was willing to help the teachers during gym. He would give a helping hand by getting the equipment and putting it away. He said, “ I just do it to help them, no reason, helping them makes them happy, which makes me happy.”
Luis Scharon and Berdie Sainterme helped other students during class. Scharon said, “We help out in the classroom so they can do it right.” Sainterme said, “If you help them now, they can pass the test later.”
These students have done many remarkable acts that make the WMS a better place.
