Knocking down pins for the win
The Woodbridge Middle School bowling team comes away with the championship after a season “of fun”. On Friday, March 10th, at Woodbridge Lanes, the Warriors won because of their “spares” Mr. Murphy said.
Mr.Maneri explained, “Towards the end of the season, they came together more as a team and fed off each other.” They strengthened their team bond and at the same time, had fun. Nick Hilenski commented “We had a great team bond and had fun.” Hilenski said that they “enjoyed” competing together .
The team also showed great dedication and character, but they only had three scheduled practices. Mr.Maneri said, “Some of them went on their own free time, to practice.” Nick Hilenski said “We all were trying to perfect our craft.” The practices were “fun” but still “competitive” Mr.Murphy explained. Emelia Kraft said, “At the practices, Mr.Murphy and Mr.Maneri corrected us.”
Hilenski explained, “I was very excited because it was the first championship in WMS history.” The whole team and coaches were proud of each other and they can’t wait till next year. Mr.Murphy said, “It was fun to win with those guys and they deserve all the credit.” Some of the boys couldn’t explain their feelings. Mr.Maneri explained, “It was a sense of relief because it was the first time they won it, it was a great feeling winning the championship.”
The whole team knew how to “step” up in a “big” moment Mr.Murphy said. Indeed it was a big moment, and they connected more as a team.
