Woodbridge welcomes French teacher

Jaydin Rose

Bienvenue Mr. Delne

Mr. Delne is a French teacher that is new to Woodbridge Middle School. He has previously taught at 4 other schools such as Elizabeth and South Plainfeild. Currently, he is on his fifteenth year of teaching.

Mr. Delne answered a few questions about himself and what he does. When asked what French background he had, he responded with, “I was born in Haiti and I spent a little time in Canada,” both countries had French as their national language. Mr. Delne said that outside of school he likes to read and study literature in both English and French.

He also stated that he visits France all the time and he organizes trips to France and other European countries. Even though he has been to many other places he said he likes it here and hopes to stay for as long as he can.

Mr. Delne didn’t always teach French, he used to be a history teacher. When asked why he decided to change to teaching French he said “it doesn’t matter what I teach as long as I’m teaching.” For him teaching is not a “job” it’s a “passion”. Mr. Delne is advanced enough to teach French literature at college level.

When asked what he likes about Woodbridge Middle School he said, “I like that the students want to learn and I am willing to teach them.”

We hope that Mr. Delne stays with us here at Woodbridge Middle School to share his knowledge of French culture.

Bienvenue. Welcome!
