Around two weeks ago on Friday, there was a Middle School Band Day event in WMS with band teacher Mrs. Maneri and her students. While there they competed against other kids from different middle schools.

She said she would’ve given her students advice, which is “to practice and have fun.” She said she felt that telling her students this would help them be prepared, she said that they “should have fun” as well.

There were 5 other middle schools and 250 kids,  and the preparation “had a lot of planning,” during the event according to Maneri. 

While on the first floor, students can hear Maneri and her students practicing  using instruments almost every day. One of her student’s, Stephanie Perugini, stated that “it’s a lot of work and practicing, but it’s worth it” when asked about what people should know before joining band. 

Perugini also stated that the band day event wasn’t competitive but the trip she’s going to in June is. During that trip she’s going to play a song “against other people” presumably with a team.
