The following is a full transcript of the interview given by Audrina Lopez to Madison Henry of The Warrior Messenger about what Choir is like.
MADISON HENRY: What’s your name, grade and what do you do?
AUDRINA LOPEZ: Audrina, I’m a 6th-grade choir student for WMS
MH: How do you warm up your voice for singing?
AL: I make sounds like an owl and Do RE MI.
MH: How long does it take to learn the words for a song?
AL: For me, specifically, it takes about a day.
MH: What was your scariest song to sing?
AL: Any song when it is in front of someone.
MH: How did you feel about your last performance?
AL: I didn’t like It.
MH: Are there any specific vocal techniques you want to work on?
AL: Being louder.
MH: What challenges have you faced in rehearsal?
AL: Getting the confidence to sing in front of everyone. Also getting people to listen to my voice because I have a lisp.
MH: Which song or style to sing in is your favorite?
AL: I dont like to sing, I like to rap.
MH: What warm-up exercises do you find most effective?
AL: Doing DO RE MI.
MH: What are your thoughts while performing?
AL: I say “ I hate this.”
MH: If you were to mess up while singing, what would you do?
AL: Cry.
MH: I read that choir helps build confidence, has your confidence gotten better?
AL: No, but I’m trying to improve.
MH: Would you do choir/ singing in the long run?
AL: No.
MH: Is there anything else you would like to add?
AL: No.
