The following is a full transcript of the interview given by Taliyah Lyle to Madison Henry of The Warrior Messenger about what she does in cheerleading.
MADISON HENRY: What’s your name, grade and what do you do?
TALIYAH LYLE: My name is Taliyah and I am in 8th grade, I also cheer for WMS.
MH: Why did you want to do cheerleading?
TL: I saw others do cheer and felt inspired and just felt like it.
MH: Where do you normally practice your cheer routines?
TL: Usually in the Gym.
MH: How do you come up with your routines?
TL: As a group, we come up with ideas and put them together to see if they turn out good.
MH: How long does it take to make up a routine?
TL: Usually takes an hour.
MH: How long is a routine for competitions?
TL: About 15 minutes.
MH: I read that cheerleading helps develop personal life skills, have You gained anything?
TL: I feel like I have gotten stronger and have gained more leadership skills.
MH: If a cheerleader fell, how would you cover it up?
TL: Just move on and keep the routine running.
MH: Would you consider doing cheerleading as a career?
TL: No.
