BRIANNA TORRES: Who taught you how to dance?
SHEA DOHONEY: It was probably my mom and my dance teacher Mrs. Annie.
BRIANNA TORRES: Okay.
GENESIS WADLEY: What is your favorite dance move to do?
SD: I don’t know, probably like a Plié.
GW: Okay.
BT: Where do you dance?
SD: I dance at Central Jersey Dance Company.
GW: When did you start to dance?
SD: I started to dance when I was 4.
BT: Why do you like to dance?
SD: Probably because my mom was dancing when she was little so I decided I wanted to dance too.
GW: Okay.
GW: Dance is how important to you?
SD: It’s really important to me.
BT: Why?
SD: Because I just like dancing and it’s just that important to me to dance.
BT: Okay.
BT: Do you prefer to dance for fun or competitively?
SD: Competitive.
GW: If you could dance for the rest of your life would you?
SD: Yes.
GW: Okay.
BT: Have you ever wanted to quit dancing?
SD: Yeah.
BT: When?
SD: When I was six.
BT: Okay
GW: Who inspired you to dance?
SD: My mom.
BT: Do you think school is more stressful or dance?
SD: School.
GW: How often do you go to competitions?
SD: Twice a year.
BT: Have you ever won a dance competition?
SD: Yes.
GW: If you had to choose between jazz, lyrical, or hip-hop which would you choose?
SD: Hip-hop.
BT: Which style of dance is hardest for you?
SD: Jazz.
BT: Why?
SD: Because, like for me, the dance that we are doing right now is probably one of the fastest dances this year.
GW: Okay.
GW: What is the best way to become a better dancer?
SD: If your parent or teacher corrects you, make sure that you do the corrections.
BT: Okay.
BT: And what do you wear for a dance class?
SD: Leggings and a sports bra.
BT: Is there anything else you could wear?
SD: Leggings and your dance company shirt.
BT: So how do you spell your name?
SD: S-H-E-A
BT: And how do you spell your last name?
SD: D-O-H-O-N-E-Y
