Today’s spot around the world is… Jamaica!  Jamaica is a tropical maritime island located in the Caribbean Sea.  Out of all the islands in the Caribbean Sea Jamaica is the 3rd largest with a population of  2.828 million and is said to be the most beautiful island in the Caribbean Sea as Columbus said “ the fairest isle that eyes have beheld,  “ 

Jamaica is an island with a diverse ecosystem with many juicy ripe fruits, growing crops, and beautiful waters clear, blue as well and warm. The tropical climate coastal breezes almost every day during winter seasons December to March have colder winds along with rainy seasons in October and May although heavy showers from thunderstorms come during the summer months.  Sometimes Jamaica has earthquakes and hurricanes only major ones that have caused damage are two to three times.  

Next, The capital of Jamaica is Kingston founded in 1692 and named after a common British baby boy name in honor of the British King, William of Orange.  A few more things about Jamaica are that reggae is a music that originated there as well as the ackee, a national fruit, which is the main ingredient in most of the island’s traditional food.
