2000- AOL-Time Warner Formed

 

America Online Inc. announces their plans to buy Time Warner Inc. The result? A $350 billion mega-corporation. AOL Time Warner was the most popular company in media at the time. But after a loss of $54 billion in 2002, the biggest quarterly loss for a US company, AOL was dropped from the name.
