The post-war world is a struggle between Fascist Italy, Spain and Japan vs Communist Russia, France, Britain and Germany. Both tried to expand their ideologies. Japan did it in Asia by annexing islands and invading China. Italy invaded Albania, Ethiopia and Greece. The USSR (Russia) and Germany funded the countries that were attacked by Fascism.

War broke out when Japan invaded the USSR causing Germany to declare war. So, WW2 is basically Facsism vs Communism. Japan was fighting the USSR while Germany fought Spain and Italy. South Africa is a Facsist country; they invaded Botswana, Zimbabwe, Angola, etc.

Also, National Socialism was gaining steam in Austria because Vienna was very anti-semetic. Hitler invaded Czech Republic for the Sudetenland. Hungary, Austria, Romania, and Bulgaria were tripartite members. Things were not looking good for the Communist Allies. Until, P e a r l  H a r b o r. The oil embargo still happens in this timeline. This is when Fascism starts to die. The USA sweeps Fascism out of Europe first, then defeats Japan.
