October Student Recognition Award recipients scare up inspiration

October student recognition’s Nicole Galicia and Jason Harrell

Jason Harrell & Nicole Galicia, who are members of the WMS family, earned the Student Recognition Award for October: an award for good deeds in the school.

Jason Harrell won the award because he gave a student who lost their money $5.00. Harrell described the feeling he got while performing this good deed,“Many people don’t have a lot of things in life and I just wanted to help out.” He continued, “yes, I think people should give instead of keep.”  He also mentioned what influences he had that made him want to give the five dollars to the student.  His influences since he was young have been, Stevie Wonder, John Cena, and Michael Jackson.  Some of Harrell’s hobbies include making music, listening to music, and hanging out with his friends.

The second person to win the award is Nicole Galicia. She baked and crafted for the school breast cancer awareness just like Jason. When I met Nicole Galicia, we had touched upon why she decided to help the school, and she said that she did it because “my grandmother died of breast cancer.” She does that to remind herself of her grandmother. Galicia likes to play the flute in her free time and hang with her friends. When we were talking about breast cancer awareness, she described the feeling of happiness that she got when her mom and aunt wanted to help her.  Galicia added she likes baking, but she wouldn’t do it all the time.

What both of these kids have in common is that they did a lot of things for the other students and I think that I speak for WMS when I say we are happy to have them in our family.
