HANDS ON SCIENCE: Ms. Sharma in action.

Woodbridge Middle School welcomes new teacher, Ms. Sharma, as she begins the 2017 second semester teaching science.

Ms. Sharma has taught at two other middle schools before Woodbridge Middle School;  Fords Middle and Iselin Middle, for a total of six years. She taught 6th and 7th grade at Fords and Iselin, now she currently teaches 8th grade at Woodbridge.

She said, “[While teaching], I like to use a lot of hands-on activities.” These include flipped classroom, method games, interactive games, and labs. She feels that these activities help the students understand the lesson.

In her classroom, they are currently using hands on activities.  She likes to do method games. Method games include Kahoot, basketball review,  musical chairs using a ball, and a metaphorical leap frog.  Her students are also making 3D models of rock landscapes.

When at home, her hobbies are watching tv and spending time with her kids when she has the chance. Her oldest kid is 6 years old and her youngest is 2. When she’s with them she likes to play games, do puzzles, play board games, read books, and enjoys being outside.
Another hobby she enjoys is reading, “I love to read.” She likes fiction, motivational, and inspirational books.
